Integrative Medicine incorporates both conventional and complementary approaches to health. The focus is on prevention rather than intervention, lifestyle choices that lead to healthier living, a team approach to addressing the needs of the whole person, partnering with clients to achieve their best self.
What is Integrative Health Coaching?
In this relationship, the client becomes the expert at determining their own vision of a healthy self through a guided examination of their personal values, strengths, and goals. Duke's model of health coaching is grounded in The Wheel of Health, an instrument that reflects a philosophy that includes physical, mental and spiritual aspects of life when examining one's state of health. Through a client's mindful examination of these dimensions, an understanding of where they are and where they would like to be will emerge. The process, based on an understanding of how the brain deals with change, involves small, supported steps that lead to sustainable alterations in lifestyle that support the client's vision of a healthy self.
